EXPECTED ROUTE

AND THE DOUBTS STILL REMAINING

You've clicked the map. 🗺🥳 Well done! Do you want to know more? I hope so!

I've created this "secret" page about the route just for you! I'll update it as we go. 👍

The bike is ready and so am I! 💪 We're currently waiting on some minor upgrades, some luggage and equipment to arrive; hopefully some restrictions to be lifted soon... and off we go! 🏍💨

Just as an outline for now, and subject to being changed, let me tell you a little bit about the route to be taken, distance, time and main costs (riding, sleeping, food), all of which you can find below.

This is what I call STAGE I, the first half of the journey!

Approximately 8 months20000Km and around 10000€, excluding additional costs like overseas shipping, maintenance and other expenses along the way, like fares, fees, ferries, extras, etc.

Having in consideration this data and the fact that I'll return to Spain on the 6th of September 2022, it'll be another 8 months and, give or take, the same distance to ride; I'm estimating the total amount to be around 20k for the 3 main expenses: food, accommodation and travelling.

A daily average of 80km ridden and 40€ spent - 2400km and 1200€ per month...

As I said, this is a rough estimation, and I think I will do with less 🏕

Crossing the Atlantic is fairly simple and easy (not really, but it is when comparing with what comes next), but once we reach Chile, it seems quite difficult (=expensive) to ship the bike to the Philippines, or directly to Cape Town (the 2 possible scenarios I can think of).

Maybe there are other, more viable alternatives... 🤔⁉️

HI, I'M SUNA!

SUNA MEANS 'SAND'

IN JAPANESE |

STAGE II

The Pacific and the unknown (not yet defined...)

1. Having the bike sent to Manila: it can mostly be used on the main island, maybe a couple more by ferry, which is manageable, but it's an extra cost to send it over again from here to South Africa.

2. Cape Town: probably a better solution (as we avoid an extra shipping) but that means I'd have to get a bike (or bikes) while around in SE Asia and then fly to Cape Town where my bike would be waiting for me, to proceed with the journey north. This takes away from one of the goals, which would be doing the whole journey on one single bike (Suna 😍), but it might be the better option.

For the above, your help is much appreciated in any way, shape or form.

Feel free to get in touch and give me your thoughts.

♥️

Alex
